‘The Stratford Upon Avon & Midland Junction Railway’ (or S.M.J.) was a small independent railway company which ran a line across the empty, untouched centre of England. It visited the counties of Northamptonshire, Warwickshire, Oxfordshire and a little of Buckinghamshire, only existing as the SMJ from 1909 to 1923. PASSENGERS ARE REQUESTED TO CROSS THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE LINE BY THE SUBWAY
Was this a subway from the Northampton side of Blisworth Station to the SMJR side?
Thanks for all the info, the track plan was especially useful. I have been trying to obtain some aerial photos of Blisworth Station, but no luck yet.

We used to go into the booking hall and then go under the subway to get to the island platform. There we caught the 4.30 home, always a push and pull train ( I think it had come from Weedon or Daventry.) To get to Blisworth we caught the 8.46 from Northampton, as I recall; on one occasion we were in the last coach, a non-corridor job, which had stopped short of the platforms. After shouting at the guard, we managed to get him to pull the train forward so we could get off!

On the attached plan of Blisworth station you can just make out the subway at the south end of the station linking the SMJ and the two main line platforms.

There was certainly a subway linking the up and down main line platforms.
