It visited the counties of Northamptonshire, Warwickshire, Oxfordshire and a little of Buckinghamshire, only existing as the SMJ from 1909 to 1923. In 1923 the S.M.J.became a minor arm of the London Midland and Scottish (L.M.S.), then in 1948 'British Railways'
Gone but not forgotten: "the damsel is not dead, but sleepeth"
Electric train staff equipment had been brought into use between Blisworth and Towcester by 9 August 1910 (date of SMJR minute 451 (TNA file RAIL 674/3)) and presumably the new signal box at Blisworth appeared at the same time. In that this was so…Continue

All I just wanted to check with you all about our planned 2013 get together in May. Alwyn brought a little something to my attention. He'd noticed that the venue had changed, had a re-furb and he was, (quite rightly) concerned. I have just rung the pub and been reassured that nothing has changed and that they were looking forward to seeing us. Please, please come. I think I shall be driving up on the day (its only Devon!) and I would love to see you all. I have had a few say they can't make it, John Jennings for one - that’s for the email John. We've told the pub that there will be 20-30 of us. I have said mid-morning to early afternoon. I like to take a stroll over the Old Town station site after before I set off home. Come and have a bite to eat, and please come for the visit to the old station after - I feel a group photo coming on! If people are coming over from the Towcester end, or the Kettering way please arrange lifts, it will be great to see you all. Spread the word and put it in your diaries See you then Andy
I'm out of the country but I see no reason why I shan't be back then. I'll bring the Blakesley Model Layout with me if you wish. Should be almost complete at that stage. Will respond more fully soon.
