‘The Stratford Upon Avon & Midland Junction Railway’ (or S.M.J.) was a small independent railway company which ran a line across the empty, untouched centre of England. It visited the counties of Northamptonshire, Warwickshire, Oxfordshire and a little of Buckinghamshire, only existing as the SMJ from 1909 to 1923. In 1923 the S.M.J.became a minor arm of the London Midland and Scottish (L.M.S.), then in 1948 'British Railways'

Hi Nick,

In the depths of this website there is a modelling section:-

http://www.smj.me/group/smjmodelling

I am responsible for the humble attempt at Blisworth SMJ (property of Kettering and District MRS).

A few members were kind enough to ask when it will next be exhibited. This year's show will be on Saturday 6th June at Wren Spinney School in Kettering - more details to follow closer to the time.

I hope this is of interest to you.

Jim.

Nick,

I met Mr Reader, forget his first name, at MK Model Railway Exhibition last Saturday.  He was talking about a future pre WW1 Kineton layout, presumably this is the same project as yours.  Point is, he had tried to join this website but had experienced difficulty receiving some sort of automatic returned email message. I looked to see if I had received a request to join email from him as I normally would. If you know this gent tell him to reapply to join the website and there shouldn't be any problem.

Nick,

So there'll be plenty here for you to base the layout on!
