‘The Stratford Upon Avon & Midland Junction Railway’ (or S.M.J.) was a small independent railway company which ran a line across the empty, untouched centre of England. It visited the counties of Northamptonshire, Warwickshire, Oxfordshire and a little of Buckinghamshire, only existing as the SMJ from 1909 to 1923. In 1923 the S.M.J.became a minor arm of the London Midland and Scottish (L.M.S.), then in 1948 'British Railways'

Hi!I recently discovered this article on Binton station building in the now long defunct magazine ‘Model Railways’ from 1976. It includes a full plan which might encourage someone to model this simple station.Does anyone have access to, or know of a…Continue

Wonder how many of these old faces you recognise, picture taken a couple of years ago. The other 3 all live in Wales nowadays. I live in MK with my second wife, Val, I've got a couple of grown up and married children and 2 grandchildren. I haven't made a special effort to contact anyone from the Park, I worked in Bedfordshire with the other 3 for many years and I'm also still in touch with Blakey as well. what have you been up ti since I last saw you.
Hello Donald..
Welcome to the SMJ site!
Actually, this site is Andy's creation and idea...I suggested Steamtube etc (why not join them, too!!)..and Andy put it all together!!
I shall look forward to your contributions.
Good to hear from you too. I still do a bit of supply around MK but am otherwise retired too. Some old Blakesley yarns you mentioned are on the Blakesley page of this website. I've put in a friend request to you so that if you wanted to send non - SMJ messages about Newlands, etc. you can do it without it going on the website latest news on the home page. I'm still in touch with a few people from The Park and went to stay with Taff Jones recently. Andy Thompson (also known on the website as TFC) runs this website with Peter Lewis, they will probably both send out invitations to become friends as well, as they usually do to all members.
