‘The Stratford Upon Avon & Midland Junction Railway’ (or S.M.J.) was a small independent railway company which ran a line across the empty, untouched centre of England. It visited the counties of Northamptonshire, Warwickshire, Oxfordshire and a little of Buckinghamshire, only existing as the SMJ from 1909 to 1923. In 1923 the S.M.J.became a minor arm of the London Midland and Scottish (L.M.S.), then in 1948 'British Railways'

Blisworth - Towcester ETS working

Electric train staff equipment had been brought into use between Blisworth and Towcester by 9 August 1910 (date of SMJR minute 451 (TNA file RAIL 674/3)) and presumably the new signal box at Blisworth appeared at the same time. In that this was so…Continue

Looks like there is even the same sign on the stand alone post indicating the Gents where the toilet block would be.

I think you are right Barry. If you look at smje82 on the Warwickshire Railways website for Ettington Station, you can see the 4th ridge tile is missing on the station building roof. Also the oil lamps are a very similar pattern.

I'd favour Ettington

Morton Pinkney had wooden fencing along the down platform and not post & wire as shown here.

The telegraph pole is also just in the right place for Ettington. I think that the mark on the platform edge just below the telegraph pole is the step up from the planked foot crossing - the signalbox would be just out of view to the left.

Also there would be big conifers in the background at M.P -unless they are just obscured by the loco

Looks like it might be Morton Pinkney if its definitely SMJ.
