‘The Stratford Upon Avon & Midland Junction Railway’ (or S.M.J.) was a small independent railway company which ran a line across the empty, untouched centre of England. It visited the counties of Northamptonshire, Warwickshire, Oxfordshire and a little of Buckinghamshire, only existing as the SMJ from 1909 to 1923. In 1923 the S.M.J.became a minor arm of the London Midland and Scottish (L.M.S.), then in 1948 'British Railways'

Someone please talk to Ian

I lived at 1 Evesham Road when I was in my teens and used to "help" in the signal box

While clearing the loft I found the small box of memorabilia I collected when I was a teenager living in Stratford by the railway line at the level crossing on Evesham Road.  In the box was an alloy key token from the SMJ for Ettington to Clifford Sidings (is this of interest to anyone?). I cannot recall exactly how I came to have this and the other things I have but it probably came from my connection with the signal box where I helped out with signals and crossing gates.  I found the SMJ web site so thought I'd look in.
I have just started constructing a model railway in n-gauge now I have retired and have used some memories to help design the layout based on the times I remember.
