Extract relating to Byfield Ironstone Siding now in photos section
Dick
It was taken from an incomplete SMJR 1916 document. I'll see if there's anything else about Byfield ironstone sidings in it and put it on the website if there is. For info on Byfield ironstone workings go to the Byfield page through 'All the Stations' then 'E & W line' at the top of the home page. To see photos type Byfield or 'Ironstone' into the box with magnifying glass symbol at the top of the 'All photos' page.
If you know a fireman who actually worked even part of the SMJ then his memories swould be important. Was he based at Northampton,Woodford or Stratford? I've managed to contact two ex firemen but there aren't that many left who are interested in telling of their experiences.
