‘The Stratford Upon Avon & Midland Junction Railway’ (or S.M.J.) was a small independent railway company which ran a line across the empty, untouched centre of England. It visited the counties of Northamptonshire, Warwickshire, Oxfordshire and a little of Buckinghamshire, only existing as the SMJ from 1909 to 1923. In 1923 the S.M.J.became a minor arm of the London Midland and Scottish (L.M.S.), then in 1948 'British Railways'

Blisworth SMJ station site.
Collection of old brackets found on the site. The largest is probably 24" in length by 9" in width, as the ones on the far left are 21" x 2.75".

The largest bracket is probably 18" x 8" and of a substantial weight. I will have to try and find them again when I am in the area and take some measurements.

Think the ones on the left - with the flat end - could be mounting poles for wire runs. Where they hang off of pulleys between box & rodding / final use.

The brackets were scattered around a small area and I collected them up for the photo. It did cross my mind that they could be points related, they must have been there a long time as they are well corroded.
