‘The Stratford Upon Avon & Midland Junction Railway’ (or S.M.J.) was a small independent railway company which ran a line across the empty, untouched centre of England. It visited the counties of Northamptonshire, Warwickshire, Oxfordshire and a little of Buckinghamshire, only existing as the SMJ from 1909 to 1923. In 1923 the S.M.J.became a minor arm of the London Midland and Scottish (L.M.S.), then in 1948 'British Railways'

Hi Rob,

Here's a 2-4-0 tank pulling 3 coaches. It's a famous print, one that used to be in railway coaches. The NRM reprinted it recently but it does not seem to be available now.

I'm sorry the quality is poor but I've just taken a photo and the flash distorts the colour. If it's any use I'll take a better one in the daylight - let me know.

Jim.
