‘The Stratford Upon Avon & Midland Junction Railway’ (or S.M.J.) was a small independent railway company which ran a line across the empty, untouched centre of England. It visited the counties of Northamptonshire, Warwickshire, Oxfordshire and a little of Buckinghamshire, only existing as the SMJ from 1909 to 1923. In 1923 the S.M.J.became a minor arm of the London Midland and Scottish (L.M.S.), then in 1948 'British Railways'

SMJ and other relics
Back in March 1967 Bryan and I pooled our relics for this photo. You'll spot a few SMJ item,s. We each have a weight restriction notice and Bryan still has the Ravenstone Wood Junction signal box sign. A few other SMJ items can be discerned.

Back in 1967, Bryan Jeyes and I had a small collection of relics which can be seen here in March of that year. Wee each have an SMJ weight restriction notice and Bryan still has the signal box sign from Ravenstone Wood Junction. There are a few other SMJ items here.
