‘The Stratford Upon Avon & Midland Junction Railway’ (or S.M.J.) was a small independent railway company which ran a line across the empty, untouched centre of England. It visited the counties of Northamptonshire, Warwickshire, Oxfordshire and a little of Buckinghamshire, only existing as the SMJ from 1909 to 1923. In 1923 the S.M.J.became a minor arm of the London Midland and Scottish (L.M.S.), then in 1948 'British Railways'

I'll head down there early one morning in the Spring, any action I catch will be posted on the site!

As far as I know it is solely a class 66 now used for traction.
In over 18 months passing over the line twice a day I only ever saw one train!!

If you could get some action on camera that would be great! Andy

I'll have to get down there sometime, would I be correct to assume that they're hauled by either Class 37s or Class 66s?

What sort of workings use this section, and how often do they pass?
