‘The Stratford Upon Avon & Midland Junction Railway’ (or S.M.J.) was a small independent railway company which ran a line across the empty, untouched centre of England. It visited the counties of Northamptonshire, Warwickshire, Oxfordshire and a little of Buckinghamshire, only existing as the SMJ from 1909 to 1923. In 1923 the S.M.J.became a minor arm of the London Midland and Scottish (L.M.S.), then in 1948 'British Railways'

I visited the Towcester museum on Sunday and just wanted to say how good I thought the exhibition was, the content was excellent and I particularly liked the model of Towcester Station.

Well Done

Anyone know how long the exhibition is running for?

Andy

Hello

The exhibition lasts until the end of February but the layout Towcester will be coming out a couple of weeks earlier as it has to be prepared to go back on the model railway exhibition circuit at the beginning of March. It has been a great honour to be included in the exhibition and have been grateful for the interest shown.

                                            Cheers

                                                    George (co-owner of Towcester layout)

Hi Andy

I hope you are well, as George has stated the layout will be removed in the middle of February.

( Glad you liked our model of Towcester )

The model of Towcester Station will be moved out at the END OF FEBRUARY.

The rest of the Old Railway Exhibition will be there until the end of June, (so you still have time to visit Andy !!)
