Electric train staff equipment had been brought into use between Blisworth and Towcester by 9 August 1910 (date of SMJR minute 451 (TNA file RAIL 674/3)) and presumably the new signal box at Blisworth appeared at the same time. In that this was so…Continue

Colleagues
Whilst I was researching the A2A archives @ http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/a2a for something else I came upon a series of railway projects that were submitted to the Northamptonshire Quarter Sessions (The then planning authority!). The full records for all of these projects are held in the Northamptonshire Record Office. I have accessed them for other projects, they are well worth a visit, the detail in these submissions is really informative.
Many of these projects never even fulfilled Acts of Parliament let alone came to fruition but some did.
I have put copies of the outline of each of these applications below. They are not in any specific order.
A2A is a wonderful research tool for any type of historical research.
Hope you find this of interest.

Re the first Railway mentioned on your listing.
Is there a map of the route “Kineton, Butlers Marston, Combrook. Wellesbourne Hastings, Pillerton Hersey, Eatington (Warwicks.); Alderminster (Worcs.); Preston on Stour (Gloucs.); Atherstone upon Stour (Warwicks.); Clifford Chambers (Gloucs.); Old Stratford & Drayton (Warwicks.)” as I live near .
Do these names refer to the Parish or the actual village ?
Thanks
Stuart Ison
I am not sure. I will visit there sometime in the next couple of months or you might fancy a trip to Northampton yourself - I suggest you phone them first to check the opening hours.
The references are to parishes, not villages.
