‘The Stratford Upon Avon & Midland Junction Railway’ (or S.M.J.) was a small independent railway company which ran a line across the empty, untouched centre of England. It visited the counties of Northamptonshire, Warwickshire, Oxfordshire and a little of Buckinghamshire, only existing as the SMJ from 1909 to 1923. Typical west Northamptonshire scenery near Blakesley. The lack of towns and big villages meant a lack of business on the trains. It's easy to see this from the air, even when so much more development has taken place.
That's what I remember. I had to stay north of the SMJ as there was big race meeting at SIlverstone (probably the Grand Prix) with a big exclusion zone south of the SMJ. I have another picture of the samew flight I cannot iudentify - I think it was taken near Bidford. It's on my Flickr site (www.flickr.com/photos/the-evanses). Thanks for your comments. When I am home sometime it would be fun to take you on this trip.

Not 100% sure where this is, but think the road at the bottom might be the Greens Norton to Bradden Road as there are only two other places where the line is crossed by a road between Greens Norton Junction and Morton Pinkney and they are next to Blakesley and Morton Pinkney stations and I'm pretty sure its neither of these. I think you are looking toward Blakesley.
