‘The Stratford Upon Avon & Midland Junction Railway’ (or S.M.J.) was a small independent railway company which ran a line across the empty, untouched centre of England. It visited the counties of Northamptonshire, Warwickshire, Oxfordshire and a little of Buckinghamshire, only existing as the SMJ from 1909 to 1923. In 1923 the S.M.J.became a minor arm of the London Midland and Scottish (L.M.S.), then in 1948 'British Railways'

The area where the trains are marshalled and where they run around to return through the layout is in a separate room contains this neat MPD which isn't based on Woodford but makes areal neat solution to the bare plyboard configurations you see on many layouts.
No, it's nothing like really, Woodford had a typical GC layout with a bay window on the shedmaster's office to one side of the running lines entrance. There was an extensive wagon shop next door and a turning triangle and a massive LNER cenotaph coal bunker. Dick
