‘The Stratford Upon Avon & Midland Junction Railway’ (or S.M.J.) was a small independent railway company which ran a line across the empty, untouched centre of England. It visited the counties of Northamptonshire, Warwickshire, Oxfordshire and a little of Buckinghamshire, only existing as the SMJ from 1909 to 1923. In 1923 the S.M.J.became a minor arm of the London Midland and Scottish (L.M.S.), then in 1948 'British Railways'

Layouts based on actual SMJR locations are few and far between. Due to being given notice on clubroom, Olney as featured in BRM Sept 2023 is for sale!

This is a rare opportunity to acquire a beautiful, 15 years in the making, ready to run model railway authentically reproducing a real SMJR station (Olney on the Northampton to Bedford branch.) All buildings are highly detailed scratch built reproductions of the prototypes, while the track plan is more or less authentic.

For further details see: http://www.olneymrc.org.uk/ospr.html

Any reasonable offer entertained. OMRC will assist in transportation and re-erection in the new abode.

Help us preserve an historical asset to continue to remind future generations of the uniqueness of the SMJR.!
