‘The Stratford Upon Avon & Midland Junction Railway’ (or S.M.J.) was a small independent railway company which ran a line across the empty, untouched centre of England. It visited the counties of Northamptonshire, Warwickshire, Oxfordshire and a little of Buckinghamshire, only existing as the SMJ from 1909 to 1923. In 1923 the S.M.J.became a minor arm of the London Midland and Scottish (L.M.S.), then in 1948 'British Railways'

A view, looking east, along the E&WJ "mainline" at Morton Pinkney. It is a late 40s to 1952 view with a single coach train in the Towcester Bound platform. It's not often you see the station from this angle.

I think the guard (just visible to the left of the coach) is impatient for these two "lunatics" to get back on board. If they boarded at Stratford and leapt out at every station, I reckon his tolerance is close to breaking point! Maybe the "runner" is a member of the site?
