‘The Stratford Upon Avon & Midland Junction Railway’ (or S.M.J.) was a small independent railway company which ran a line across the empty, untouched centre of England. It visited the counties of Northamptonshire, Warwickshire, Oxfordshire and a little of Buckinghamshire, only existing as the SMJ from 1909 to 1923. In 1923 the S.M.J.became a minor arm of the London Midland and Scottish (L.M.S.), then in 1948 'British Railways' 

Gone but not forgotten: "the damsel is not dead, but sleepeth"

Tiffield Station Site

Here is the confirmed location of Tiffield Halt, as per the reference to the station in the bridge numbers document in relation to bridge 9. The location of the station is located TWO chains to the EAST of Bridge 9 Caldecote Road, which is equal to just 44 yards in distance. Having visited the exact location this evening (14th June), it ticks all the boxes for a small station. There is good road access, it's close to the village, and the cutting becomes significantly less steep on the up side of the line, to a height of only about 6 feet, and also widens out substantially in order to accommodate a small halt.
