‘The Stratford Upon Avon & Midland Junction Railway’ (or S.M.J.) was a small independent railway company which ran a line across the empty, untouched centre of England. From photographs in various books on the SMJ it seems that the non-corridor brake 3rds tended to be of LMS diagram 1703 period 1 and diagram 1735 period 2.
