The previous day, we had walked from Towcester to Byfield on the SMJ. Yet, proving that(a) we seriously needed to get a social life or (b) were diehard SMJ fanatics, we are back at Blisworth on April 5 1966. Look at that line of lovely wagons piled high with beautiful orange Northamptonshire iron ore from Blisworth Mines. Notice the new platform canopies at the station used for its temporary parcels interchange service. The old turntable is in the foreground. A one road engine shed stood in the clearing just behind the turntable.
