‘The Stratford Upon Avon & Midland Junction Railway’ (or S.M.J.) was a small independent railway company which ran a line across the empty, untouched centre of England. It visited the counties of Northamptonshire, Warwickshire, Oxfordshire and a little of Buckinghamshire, only existing as the SMJ from 1909 to 1923. In 1923 the S.M.J.became a minor arm of the London Midland and Scottish (L.M.S.), then in 1948 'British Railways'

These Pics were taken by myself and show the permanent way hut on the railway embankment, there are several track retaining clips laying around the floor of the hut. The bottom left hand pic shows two clips (very corroded) these are laying on the old trackbed and were probably left there when the track was removed. The hut is used by the farmer to store pheasant feeding equipment.
The remaining pics are of the railway track bed.
These pics were taken approximately 1 kilometer south of the A43.
