‘The Stratford Upon Avon & Midland Junction Railway’ (or S.M.J.) was a small independent railway company which ran a line across the empty, untouched centre of England. It visited the counties of Northamptonshire, Warwickshire, Oxfordshire and a little of Buckinghamshire, only existing as the SMJ from 1909 to 1923. In 1923 the S.M.J.became a minor arm of the London Midland and Scottish (L.M.S.), then in 1948 'British Railways'

Reinstated pages

Through nobody's fault a few pages went missing when the website was upgraded. Several have been recently reinstated. Andy has relocated and put back the useful Bridge Number list for instance. I've reloaded Bob Salmons - SMJ Signalman and updated Clive Boardman's Memories of firing on the SMJ by adding some new info Clive has provided plus a couple of pics of loco types he fired over the SMJ. Also the Loco Classes list has been updated . ALL of these pages can be found via the 'Pages of History' link at the top of the page. My next job is to rewrite the Slip Coach page with help from new info provided from Alwyn's extensive SMJ collection.
