‘The Stratford Upon Avon & Midland Junction Railway’ (or S.M.J.) was a small independent railway company which ran a line across the empty, untouched centre of England. It visited the counties of Northamptonshire, Warwickshire, Oxfordshire and a little of Buckinghamshire, only existing as the SMJ from 1909 to 1923. In 1923 the S.M.J.became a minor arm of the London Midland and Scottish (L.M.S.), then in 1948 'British Railways'

Lucas Bridge Towcester Model Layout

As some of you may know, myself and fellow modeller George Woodcock are building a representation of Towcester as if it remained open until the late 70's.

Despite only finding one picture of Lucas bridge we found a photo of the Lucas advertisement,which were different on each side of the bridge.

That is looking really good.
What compression did you use for the layout?
I have looked in the past to make a layout of Towcester but struggled as to where to compress it and not loose the feeling or identifing look of the place.

Thanks Gary, we have omitted several of the sidings in the station yard and "squeezed" the length slightly.
We have also taken some modellers license by adding a small warehouse for Towcester Mill and Steel Fabricators where the turntable used to be.
