‘The Stratford Upon Avon & Midland Junction Railway’ (or S.M.J.) was a small independent railway company which ran a line across the empty, untouched centre of England. It visited the counties of Northamptonshire, Warwickshire, Oxfordshire and a little of Buckinghamshire, only existing as the SMJ from 1909 to 1923. In 1923 the S.M.J.became a minor arm of the London Midland and Scottish (L.M.S.), then in 1948 'British Railways'

Dear Andy,
I have just been given a pile of old magazines and am enjoying the cricket whilst working through them. I found the attached in “The Industrial Locomotive,” for summer 1977, which was No.7 of Vol. 1. You may well have it already but it might offer the odd new snippet!
I hope to return to the UK during this year and will be chasing up Reynolds relations for more pictures and things. I know of some pictures out there!
