Two LMS notice boards still survive The booking office had a very tiny window through which tickets were purchased. The "station office," as it was labelled, was full of notices and other junk. I was a reporter at the Chronicle and Echo, Northampton, at the time and used to cover Towcester Magistrates Court quite often. The reporter from the Bucks Herald, a very pretty girl, surprised me one day by saying she was getting married and they were buying Blakesley station as their first house. I'm not sure whether this actually happened, as she said there were "issues." April 4 1966.
