Did this railway (as opposed to the East & West Junction Railway) go into receivership - if so, when. And when did it come out of receivership?Continue

Shall we bring this discussion under the proper heading! So far as the OS plan surveyed 1885, published 1886, is concerned: the OS liked - wherever they could - to have text running parallel to the top and bottom borders. When they came to add the…Continue

As a resident of Towcester it has long been an ambition of mine to build a model railway layout of the area.
A friend of mine George Woodcock and myself have constructed the boards, laid the track and are now commencing building the structures.
Does anyone know where i could obtain some drawings of Towcester station (Platform side) as it will only be a low relief model.
Also it would appear that Lucas bridge ( across the A5 ) must have been the least photographed bridge of any railway line in the UK, if anyone has any photos or know what teh colour scheme was of the last Lucas sign that adorned the bridge i would love to know.
The model is being built with some modellers license in the fact that it will be set in 1977 and that the line was still open and was a cross country route between Northampton and banbury ( the Northampton-Market Harborough line was still open at this time )
The layout already has 4 bookings for 2014 at exhibitions:
Warley NEC
Model Rail Scotland Glasgow
Stafford ( 1st outing )
Sutton Coldfield.
Many thanks for any info received
John

Hello John
I also live in Towcester and I am making a model of Towcester Station. Maybe we could get together and compare notes. My layout is N gauge and i am not planning to take it anywhere. Maybe you could give me a call on 07714495239.
Hi John
Please give me a call, I would like to see what you are doing and compare notes.
Cheers
Brian
